Your support helps transform lives. At Voices for a Second Chance, giving back means more than donating—it means helping individuals rebuild, reintegrate, and thrive in their communities. Every contribution, whether time, resources, or advocacy, plays a vital role in breaking the cycle of incarceration and opening doors to second chances.

Your contribution will make a difference to our clients, their families, and our community. We welcome gifts of time, money, and in-kind necessities. Thank you for your support.

Donate Essentials

A fresh start begins with the basics. Your in-kind donations supply D.C.'s returning citizens with the everyday essentials they need to thrive. Check out our current wish list:

  • New underwear and socks for both men and women

  • Healthy food options and snacks: individual packages of cheese, tuna, and granola bars, as well as fruit, juice, and water

  • Full-sized toiletries for men and women

Volunteer with VSC

Volunteers are an essential part of VSC’s mission, helping us create a welcoming environment for returning citizens. In our office, volunteers help answer phone calls and letters from clients and assist our professional staff with administrative tasks. During the holidays, volunteers play a vital role in organizing donations through our Adopt-A-Family program, bringing joy and stability to families rebuilding their lives.

We also welcome volunteers with hands-on skills to assist with building maintenance and repairs such as electrical work, painting, gardening, or general upkeep—to help keep our space safe, warm, and ready to serve.
