Mobile and Office-Based Reentry Services for Returning Citizens
The Welcome Home Center provides mobile and office-based reentry support post-incarceration for individuals who have left the D.C. Jail, federal prisons, halfway houses, or those under community supervision. VSC’s Reentry Navigators offer immediate stabilizers such as assistance with identification, reinstating medical benefits, and connecting clients to social services—while also providing referrals and case management to ensure long-term success.
Our Mobile Welcome Home Center brings services directly to neighborhoods where justice-involved individuals face higher risks of poverty and crime. By meeting clients where they are in shelters, encampments, or community spaces, we ensure they have access to the resources they need to begin rebuilding their lives. Individuals can walk in or contact us by phone to access these services.
Through individualized case management, clients shape a sustainable path forward, gaining access to education, employment, health, and housing resources that support long-term stability.

Why This Matters
The transition from incarceration back into the community is a period where returning citizens face challenges like housing insecurity, gaps in healthcare, and limited access to employment or education. The Welcome Home Center addresses these challenges by providing immediate stabilizers and ongoing case management, ensuring clients can successfully navigate their first days and weeks back home.
