Helping to Find Hope,
One Voice at a Time
Staying on Track is a safe space for returning citizens to check in, share valuable resources, and engage with peers and professionals. Our monthly support group explores healthy relationships, coping with trauma, confidence building, and other issues important to a successful post-incarceration transition. For information about Staying on Track, contact info@vscdc.org.
Lessons in Law presents practical legal issues relevant to returning citizens. Topics covered during this virtual monthly forum include setting aside convictions, reducing probation and supervised release terms, and obtaining a re-sentencing. The forum’s legal specialist is Timothy Lyons, an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Clifford Chance US LLP. He serves as a co-facilitator with Michael Dickerson, VSC’s peer leader.
Healing Each Other Respectfully (H.E.R.) is our support group for women who have been incarcerated. Women-led discussions explore self-esteem, healthy relationships, establishing boundaries, and parenting. In this nurturing space, women develop their capacity to meet the challenges of reentry.
